Tip #128 - You’ve been framed
It’s currently 2008, and it still amazes me how many people come to me with sites that are built in frames and want to know why they’re not listed in google, Yahoo, MSN etc. A frameset is a ‘cover’ page for 2 or more ‘frames’ (or other pages) and even now Google just can’t handle it. If you look at the code of your website (view source) and you see the dreaded ‘frame’ word in there, then the chances are your site is built in frames. It’s a big no-no and no self respecting web designer would use frames for a website, especially not a commercial website. If you’re having a site built, or building one yourself, then DON’T use frames! Not sure whether your site is framed or not? Drop me a line at nikki@nikkipilkington.com and I’ll let you know. |
