Tip #284 - Fight Club
This little gizmo is so gimmicky that I almost didn’t include it for fear of it being seen as a cliché. But, it really is quite useful. Google Fight at http://www.googlefight.com/ is a great way to compare 2 keyphrases to see which one has more results in Google (and therefore is more competitive). The site has loads of suggested ‘fights’, which are definitely a bit gimmicky, but the tool can be used to great effect; and it’s quicker than doing separate searches on Google itself. A 5 minute burst at the time of writing tells me that: - ‘marketing expert’ is more competitive than ‘internet marketing expert’ - ‘internet marketing expert’ is more competitive than ‘marketing expert uk’ - ‘marketing expert uk’ is more competitive than ‘internet marketing expert uk’ Using the information you find, you can target less competitive phrases, and when teamed with some good keyphrase research on the amounts of searches done, this tool has value, despite first appearances! –oOo– |
